2017 Domain Drouhin Oregon Roserock Zéphirine Pinot Noir USA
GW says: Roserock vineyard is at the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills, in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Volcanic soils and an ideal elevation produces classic cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Zéphirine Pinot Noir, a barrel selection cuvée, conveys purity and beauty, elegance and finesse, and will age beautifully in the coming years.
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
Appearance: Pale, medium ruby-purple
Aroma: A wonderful nose, aromas of red berries, toast, herbs, and purple flowers.
Palate: Complexity and layered flavours, with a round, almost juicy, central core of fruit. Crushed red berries, cassis, subtle vanilla, minerals, and cedar. Rich, generous, with a silky texture with bright acidity and fine tannins.
