Collection: Vegan wine

What makes a wine vegan?
Vegan wine is made without any animal-derived products at any stage of the winemaking process. While wine is essentially fermented grape juice, traditional methods often use animal-based fining agents (e.g egg whites or gelatin) to clarify the wine. These are filtered out, but trace elements may remain, disqualifying the wine from being vegan.

How is vegan wine made?
To make wine vegan, fining is either skipped altogether (letting the wine naturally clarify, slowly)  or vegan-friendly agents (e.g. activated charcoal, or plant-based casein) are used.  They achieve the same clarity and stability without animal involvement.
