2015 Radio-Coteau Harrison Grade Sonoma Coast Syrah USA

GW says: This is a big one. But expect a wave of fresh sea breeze, as well, to whoosh into the palate. You are going on a journey! This Syrah is a beauty. Eric Sussman’s (owner) wines always stand out. Always sophisticated and savoury. This Syrah is certainly no exception: bright, wild berry fruit and notes of grilled meat, violet and tar. Always elegant tannins not too much but showing something grown up. Also showing is an intense spice of wood bark, green peppercorn, black tea— growing toward rich, dark fruit as you leave it to open up.

Grapes: 100% Syrah

Appearance: Dark and moody.

Aroma: Forest floor fruits. Bramble berry, loganberries and boysenberries.

Palate: A pretty sweetness that belies its savory bouquet. This is a symphony of characteristics working in harmony. The mouthfeel is serious and focused, with grainy tannins leading to a long, smooth finish.
