2021 Masi Tupungato Passo Doble Malbec - Corvina
2021 Masi Tupungato Passo Doble Malbec - Corvina
GW says: From Masi’s 140-hectare organic estate in Argentina’s sun-drenched Tupungato region, Passo Doble 2021 is a bold red that blends the elegance of Corvina with the depth of Malbec. Made using the traditional appassimento method—partially drying a portion of the grapes before fermentation—it creates a wine with concentrated flavour and silky texture. “Tierra Soleada,” meaning “sunny land,” pays tribute to the region’s high-altitude climate and intense sunlight, which gift the grapes extra vibrancy and ripeness. Think of it as Amarone with a Latin twist—bold, structured, and immensely food-friendly, with just enough character to make a dinner party memorable.
Grapes: Malbec & Corvina (made with appassimento method).
Appearance: Inky ruby with violet reflections.
Aroma: Ripe blackberry, cherry liqueur, cocoa, and hints of dried plum.
Palate: Juicy yet refined, with soft tannins, bright acidity, and a touch of spice.
