This is EPC stepping into a more serious register. Grand Cru Chardonnay brings an extra level of precision, tension and quiet power — less about immediate charm, more about detail, structure and length. It’s Champagne that doesn’t rush to impress, but rewards attention.

Appearance

Pale gold with a faint green shimmer at the rim. The mousse is exceptionally fine, forming a steady, elegant bead that signals both quality fruit and careful ageing.

Aroma

Refined and layered. Citrus sits at the core — lemon zest, grapefruit peel — backed by crisp green apple and subtle white peach. There’s a pronounced chalky minerality, almost saline in nature, reflecting its Grand Cru origins. With air, the wine broadens to reveal toasted brioche, almond skin and a delicate hint of white flowers, adding depth without losing focus.

Palate

Precise, linear and quietly powerful. The attack is driven by citrus and green orchard fruit, carried by a taut line of acidity that gives the wine its backbone. The mousse is ultra-fine, lending a creamy texture that softens the edges without diluting the structure. Mid-palate, a mineral intensity builds — chalk, crushed stone, a touch of salinity — before giving way to subtle pastry and nutty notes from lees ageing. The finish is long, dry and poised, with a lingering citrus and mineral echo.

Food Pairing

This is a gastronomic Champagne that thrives with refined, flavour-driven dishes:

  • Oysters, caviar and shellfish
  • Lobster with beurre blanc
  • Turbot or Dover sole with lemon butter
  • Roast chicken with morels or truffle
  • Parmesan, Comté or aged hard cheeses
  • Light cream-based dishes with subtle richness

Serve well chilled but allow it to open in the glass — this is a Blanc de Blancs that reveals its layers slowly, delivering precision, elegance and a true sense of place.
