2019 Masi Tupungato Corbec Appassimento Uco Valley Argentina
2019 Masi Tupungato Corbec Appassimento Uco Valley Argentina
GW says: Born at Masi's 140-hectare estate in Argentina's Uco Valley, Corbec 2019 is what happens when Corvina and Malbec meet in the Andes. This wine uses the traditional Venetian appassimento method—where grapes are semi-dried to intensify flavour—giving it a dense, velvety texture and richness uncommon in New World reds. At 1,200 metres above sea level, the Tupungato terroir offers cooler temperatures and intense sunlight, producing grapes with thick skins, vibrant acidity, and bold personality.
Grapes: 70% Corvina, 30% Malbec
Appearance: Deep garnet with a purple rim and serious extraction.
Aroma: Ripe plum, black cherry, dark chocolate, and dried figs.
Palate: Bold and smooth with notes of espresso, spice, and velvety tannins.
