NV Champagne Drappier Carte d'Or Brut France | Melchior
NV Champagne Drappier Carte d'Or Brut France | Melchior
GW says: Lots and lots of Pinot Noir in here so expect complexity and depth. Almost a full-on Blanc de Noir. Lots of richness. A spiciness, with a delicate touch of quince jelly. Drappier tends to have a lesser approach when it comes to winemaking. Using less additives and concentrating on the influence of the land. The wine shows malolactic fermentation- so witness a creaminess to the sparkle
Grapes: 80% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier
Appearance: Rich & golden in colour.
Aroma: A bouquet of sweet quince or sweet apple and white peach, with a spicy hint in the mouth, dominated by ripe peach, apricot and red fruits.
Palate: The taste begins with citrus stone fruits such as white vineyard peaches. Brioche. A spicy note emerges in a powerful and complex mouthfeel. Smooth mousse .
