Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot.

Its fame grew under Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, the “Veuve” (widow) Clicquot, who took over in 1805.She invented the riddling table to clarify Champagne brilliantly.
Her innovations transformed Champagne into the sparkling wine we know today.

The house’s signature style is rich, structured, and dominated by Pinot Noir. Veuve Clicquot’s bright yellow label is now recognised worldwide. The house survived wars and economic crises thanks to Madame Clicquot’s vision. She was a business women of her time- leading a global luxury brand. Veuve Clicquot still honours her spirit of audacity and innovation.
